Return to a time when bicycles were new, cars were few, and these covered bridges were in their youth. The youngest historic covered bridges on this ride are over 100 years old ! (Thankfully we have paved roads now.) For almost 50 years this bicycle tour has been celebrating their heyday. Started by Dick Cross of the Peddlers Bike Shop and the Trotwood Historic Society in the early 1970s, the DCC became the organizers in the mid '80s.

START: Intersection of Arlington Rd. and Upper Lewisburg-Salem Rd. See map link above.

Fast food restaurants, gas stations, and a Holiday Inn Express are near the highway exit. A KOA campground is about 5 miles from the start.

ROUTES: 20 miles (2 covered bridges), 41 miles (5 covered bridges), 70 miles (8 covered bridges), 102 miles (11 covered bridges). Rolling to hilly terrain. See below for links to map, cue sheet and addition route information. WE NO LONGER PAINT ROUTE ARROWS ON THE ROAD FOR THIS RIDE. PRINT A MAP AND INFORMATION FROM THE RIDE WITH GPS "PICTURES" AREA (LINKS BELOW).

FACILITIES: All routes pass through small towns where water, restrooms, snackfoods, etc. are available at "quickmarts" and restaurants.

BRING MONEY OR YOUR OWN FOOD. NO "SAG" SERVICE IS PROVIDED- BRING A CELL PHONE, A PUMP, PATCH KIT AND TOOLS AND KNOW HOW TO USE THEM. Be prepared for the weather. We've had cold, rainy weather several times!
