DCC Insurance Coverage
Insurance help is available for injured riders. Part of the funds collected annually by the Dayton Cycling Club are used to purchase liability insurance. The insurance policy is specifically designed for bicycle clubs by the League of American Bicyclists and is administered by American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc.
All members who sign tour rosters at advertised DCC rides are covered by accident insurance paid for by part of their annual membership fee. Note that non-members also must sign tour rosters but are only covered by the club’s insurance if it is their first ride with the Dayton Cycling Club.
At the DCC’s invitational rides ( Huffman Spring Classic, Wright Wride, etc.), all riders — whether they are members or not — are covered by accident insurance paid for with part of the ride registration fee.
If you are injured during a DCC ride, contact the DCC Treasurer for more information about the club’s insurance, its limitations, requirements for filing claims, etc., and to get the appropriate forms.
