DCC Covered Bridge Tour has been an annual ride for over 50 years. Come ride the scenic roads of rural Preble, Butler and Montgomery County and visit historic covered bridges along the way. Some of the old bridges are gone due to vandalism in the 70’s and 80’s but with some alterations to the original route, new ones have been added. There are routes to fit every ability. The 20- and 40-mile routes are flat to rolling. The 73 and 101 add some more challenging hills.
The tour no longer offers rest stops or marked routes/maps. This is a free self-guided tour using ride with gps routes. There are plenty of places to get food and water along the way, as the ride passes through several small towns as well as Hueston Woods State park (101 mile route)
See 2 to 11 covered bridges on 20, 42, 73 or 101 mile routes. NO SUPPORT, routes are NOT marked. Most of the route is on roads, and some are busy at times.
Bring water, food/ money to buy food along the way
Bring a friend if you want to guarantee someone to ride with, ### THIS IS NOT a "no drop" ride. ###
Bring tools, etc. and know how to use them.
There is limited parking at the start, and Golden Gate Park doesn't open until 8 AM.
RIDE SLOWLY OR WALK IN COVERED BRIDGES !!! Wooden deck will be uneven, slippery, with gaps between boards.
